Susan will be back in the water teaching this summer!
Anika is graduating from college this year and will embark on her career path of music. What a blessing she has been to so many children in our community. She played a critical role in the enduring success of the Calm Waters Aquatics program. Anika will be missed terribly!
Our new pool site will be at Hillside lnn located at 2 Solomon Dr., Pagosa Springs. It’s at the top of Putt Hill, kitty corner across Hwy 160 from Wells Fargo. The two reasons lessons have moved to this location are:
The Quality Inn pool developed a leak that could not be located. The pool has been permanently closed.
The PLPOA Rec Center has expanded its lesson program to Monday through Thursday mornings. The swim team continues to grow. An hour has been added to their practice time in the evenings. It’s so good watch their programs grow. There just isn’t room enough in the pool for our lessons in the mornings or evenings.
The water temperature at Hillside Inn is very cold, 80-82 degrees. This is 2-4 degrees colder than the Rec Center pool. I will be working with the owners to see if we can bump the temperature up to 84. Even at 84, that’s too cold for two year olds. As a result there will be no Parenting Water Babies classes offered this summer.
